QCLNG Export Pipeline (Narrows Crossing) Gladstone
The QCLNG Project involves transporting coal seam gas several hundred kilometres through an underground pipeline from QGC’s gas fields in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland to a LNG export facility at Curtis Island, near Gladstone.
A joint venture of McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd and Consolidated Contractors Company Australia (MCJV) has been engaged as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the transmission pipeline network in the first phase of the project. This includes marine crossings from the mainland to Curtis Island through Phillipies Landing, Humpy and Targinie Creeks, and the Narrows crossing between Friend Point and Laird Point.
Precise Environmental was initially commissioned by MCJV at tender stage to provide a risk assessment and technical advice for the management of acid sulfate soils in these sensitive marine sections of the proposed alignment. Precise Environmental has now been engaged as MCJVs technical advisor for ASS management during completion of the marine pipeline crossings.
